Six years ago today, I remember it so clearly, I signed up to become a Beachbody Coach. Even though I had a PhD and was a brand new professor, I found myself putting my $40 coaching sign up fee on my credit card. I literally had more bills at the end of the month than money.
I didn’t become a coach because I wanted to make money. In fact, I remember asking my sponsor to never speak to me about the business. I told him, “I JUST want to help people. Don’t talk to me about the business. I’m NOT interested.” The night that I signed up my stomach was in knots. Had I made a mistake? Was this a scam? The only reason I pulled the trigger and signed up was because I knew I could cancel any time. After a day or two, it was just like falling in love. I focused on others, on having fun, helping others, and my worries disappeared. I made $0 my first month and $29 my second month.
Somewhere along the way, about 8 months later, something clicked. I saw others who were HELPING PEOPLE, HAVING FUN, and MAKING 6 FIGURES. I was like, hmm, I’m doing the same, but making $30 a week, and that was on good weeks. I guess we can call that a breakthrough. In an instant, I gave myself permission to go for this opportunity and to be a six figure earner. I didn’t know HOW I was going to do it, but suddenly, I just KNEW that I was going to be successful at it.
It’s been a journey of learning, of tons of trial and error, of joy, of frustration, of friendship, of challenges, of love, and ultimately of FREEDOM. Today, I am FREE to work from home, to travel where I want, to do the things I want, to provide for my mom the way I want, and to live WORRY FREE about the future. That’s FREEDOM. One of the greatest rewards is passing on this vision to other coaches, helping them see that IT IS POSSIBLE for them, too. I seeing others succeed.
My deepest gratitude to CEO Carl Daikeler and President Jon Congdon for creating this opportunity. You have changed my life from the inside out and I promise to keep paying it forward. THANK YOU.
