Dear Boys and Girls, I usually have a good sense of what I’m going to write about on my blog before I actually start writing. Today, I don’t feel like having direction. Tomorrow I turn 36. That number seems somewhat insignificant to me; I mean, what does it mean? It looks kind of big on the screen. I don’t know, but it doesn’t scare me. I am where I am supposed to be. In fact, I am where I never thought I’d be, which is exactly where I want to be. Does that make sense? Today I had lunch with someone I work with. When the conversation turned to teaching, I felt myself come alive. Yes, I was born to teach. It’s really okay that I don’t care much for the research/publication component of my profession. It felt great to realize that I’ve made peace with that. Because of my…Details
Dear Boys and Girls, I went back to the fancy gym this morning for another fitness class. Once again, the class was fun and super challenging. Again, the folks there were pretty darn fit. But, I couldn’t help but notice: the Instructor didn’t LOOK very fit. He had a belly and his face (I swear I’m not trying to be mean, really) seemed kind of puffy. When you’re fit, so is your face. When you don’t eat that well, even when you’re in pretty good cardiovascular shape, it shows in both your body and face. I then had the realization: You really are what you eat. The fitness instructor was clearly knowledgeable (remember: I have no certification in fitness. I am simply a BeachBody customer and fitness/nutrition enthusiast) and in good shape. So, really, I’m not trying to knock him or even judge him. For some, for most folks…Details
Dear Boys and Girls, I’m not anti-gym. Seriously, there’s nothing inherently evil about gyms. I have gotten most of my results using BeachBody products, but that doesn’t mean that I have to hate gyms. The problem is that many people 1. don’t use their memberships and 2. even if they do go, they often don’t see results. Once there, they really don’t know what to do with themselves, unless they take a fitness class. But, even then, unless they are working with a personal trainer, their nutrition is all off. Oh, and I forgot to mention the hefty price tag. For the record, I do belong to a gym these days and I love taking fitness classes. I enjoy the variety. So: when my friend Charaka invited me to join him in a class this morning at Equinox, of course I said yes. What an awesome way to socialize…Details
Dear Boys and Girls,
A NEW version of Slim in 6 is out!!! This is the program that helped me lose my initial 11 pounds and reshape my body. As much as I loved the program, the set was so archaic and the music was, um, pretty bad.
So, I am thrilled!
Here is an interview with Debbie Siebers, the creator of Slim in 6, and my Queen! I love her because she’s so real. She talks about her mom telling her how she would always have thunder thighs. Debbie was determined to prove her wrong.
You’ll see that you have the option of incorporating Shakeology into your Slim in 6 meal plan.
And there’s also a Spanish track!! How cool is that?!!

Dear Boys and Girls, I know everyone’s excited about the upcoming challenge. I promise, promise, promise to post the details tomorrow, Friday. I’ve just had a busy and exhausting day. I don’t feel like diving into the details of clean eating right now. No, instead, I feel like whining. Well, I won’t whine. I just got done doing Brazil Butt Lift’s Sculpt, a 48 minute complete body workout. It was great. It really does work your entire body and it’s fun. Once again, I failed to get up at 5am to get my cardio in. I’ve just been feeling like I need my sleep and so I’ve been going with the flow. The truth is, I’ve been super duper busy lately with coaching and work. The excitement of the things I need and want to get done work-wise have been keeping me up later than usual, which has made it…Details
Dear Boys and Girls, It’s way too late for me to be blogging, but I have to do it. Remember how I said I would get up at 4:45 am to do cardio? Well, I didn’t. The alarm went off and my comforter felt, well, so comfortable. I just couldn’t, or wouldn’t, rather, get up. I’m really not a snooze-button type of person, but I reset the alarm for 5:30am. Then I just turned the thing off. By 6am it was time to get ready for work. So, off I went to work, knowing that I would have to find the time to squeeze in my cardio session, even though today is a resistance day. At 7:30pm I showed up to the gym where I train with two other women. I brought it good, and when that was done at 8:30pm, I hit the treadmill. Ugh. Actually, it wasn’t…Details
Dear Boys and Girls, I’m so darn excited about my new blog, that I’m gonna blog pre-workout, which I usually don’t do. And um, I’m gonna blog about how I don’t feel like working out. Of course, I’ll work out. Didn’t you see my List of Commitments for the week? But, I’m tirrrrred. It’s 4pm and I’ve had a full day. My day started at 8am. I headed over to the car shop to get my car repaired. Someone decided to smash my window to see what goodies they could find. They got away with my GPS (lesson, kids: don’t leave your GPS in the car or any accessories, for that matter!) and left me with more busy stuff to deal with. As soon as I got back home, I started working on some coaching projects, such as a coach training series autoresponder that I’ve made open to all. Um,…Details
Dear Boys and Girls, Omg!! Welcome to our new home, my new GetFitWithBarbie Blog! I’m in a strange new world right now in this blogosphere, yet one that is sort of vaguely familiar. It’s a blog, but a real website at the same time. To be honest, I don’t really get it. My friend, Jesse Miller (who I’m convinced is an internet genius) and I are collaborating on some new projects and he was kind enough to build this fancy new blog for me. Thank you, Jesse Miller! It’s still kind of plain, I know. It’s like a new home. It’ll take a while for us (my readers and me) to get settled in. Yet, I’m so excited! I’ll be able to post more videos, better graphics, and, um, I’m not sure what else, something about SOE or something. But, I like it! New Beginnings. How appropriate. I’m ready to…Details
